We all face problems and difficulties in our lives, and even Christians are not immune.

If you are not currently dealing with some kind of adversity, it's not a matter of "if" but "when". For instance, if (or should I say "when") I have a problem with my car, I'm inclined to get out the owner's manual to see if it addresses the problem at hand. And for those of us who are Christians, we view the Bible somewhat like an "owner's manual" for life, and God is the engineer who created life. I creatively communicate the hope we have in Christ to overcome our adversity through “illusionary illustrations”, Bible stories, my own stories, and possibly a creative surprise.

About

About Dale

Dale wanted to be high school valedictorian when he was still in the eighth grade.

No one told him that a valedictorian is typically the person with the highest grades or he would have lost hope. Dale’s grades were usually “middle class” at best, but strangely enough; he ended up serving his high school classmates as one of two valedictorians (one male and one female).

Dale is an overcomer, largely because he believes in miracles. He has experienced loss of employment (more than once), serious illnesses, a serious car crash, cancer in the family (his father died), and many other trials and tribulations. He has learned to “keep looking up” (to God), but also to “look down” into God’s Word, the Bible for the kind of wisdom that could only come from God. He is still learning what it means to trust God when nothing makes sense. Dale is also a creative communicator who likes to have fun both on and off the stage.

Finding a Silver Lining in the Dark Cloud of Your Loss

When someone is going through a series of serious difficulties (especially the loss of loved ones or the loss of health), the ancient Hebrew story of Job is often referred to. All of us have our own times of trial and we are inclined to ask, “Why?” Sometimes it might be a consequence of something we did, but not necessarily.

And we may never find satisfactory answers in this life. However, we can find ways to not only cope with our problems but to overcome our adversity with hope knowing that we are not alone in the journey.

There may even be a silver lining beyond what we can imagine.

In the Midst of Your Gloom, Flowers Can Still Bloom

Sometimes we are forced to deal with significant change in our lives.  In the Biblical story of Ruth, we find the radical change of culture shock, loss of family members, and uncertainty about the future.  But in the middle of the bitterness and gloom, hope begins to rise.

We all need hope for a brighter tomorrow, and a few flowers wouldn't hurt.
